This is the Signed original Gouache painting by Dan Escott.

The Only Steel worth having comes from Sheffield, say the people who have been putting a fine cutting edge on blades of one kind or another for close to 600 years.

This work depicts early steel workers shown on a armorial shield of the city of Sheffield. The phrase says 'With Gods help, work brings rewards'. Also Sheffield castle is depicted as well as the shield of arms of the Talbot family (Earls of Shrewsbury).

Bottom right, Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet is a museum of Sheffield's industrial past. Bottom left, Sheffield's town hall.
