This is the unique original Gouache painting by Oliver Frey.

Journey to the Forbidden City. Richard Burton was determined to make his way to the sacred city of Mecca, although Moslem law spelt death for any unbeliever. In the Pass of Death, Burton and his fellow pilgrims were attacked by bandits.

Original artwork from Look and Learn issue 868, 2nd September 1978 and reprinted in The Look and Learn Book 1985. Please not vertical crease in the centre as the art was folded in storage. Also some colour loss to the left of the fold. This is reflected in the asking price. The right panel alone would make a very special image.
