Inside Story: The Flying Sentinel. Cut-away drawing of the Nimrod Mark III with inset image of control panel, fighters taking off, a battleship and a fighter being guided to a refuelling plane.

This painting showcases in full colour Hardy's incredible skill as a cutaway artist but also as a dynamic artist capable of creating mood. Using brushstrokes reminiscent of fauvism, Hardy creates a an incredible painterly contrast to the impeccably proportioned technical cutaway of the Sentinel.
