1972This is the unique original Watercolour painting by Jose Ortiz.
The Pinstripe King returns home carrying his grey satchel to find his daughter redecorating the frontage of their home with fabulous Miro-esque chalk paintings. How could he be anything but proud of his turquoise dungarees wearing delight?
This watercolour was used as a full page illustration in Hey Diddle Diddle Magazine No 27, published September 1972.
Ortiz paints using several watercolour techniques and demonstrates his fluid style which lends itself perfectly to youthful subject matter. This is the perfect opportunity to own a piece by Ortiz, who painted prolifically throughout his lifetime for youth publications, strips and comics including The Eagle and 2000AD.
Note this piece has had what appears to be some water droplets land on it and consequently there is a small amount of smudging. Ortiz has also flicked some blue paint from his brush to the bottom of the painting. This has been taken into account whilst valuing the piece.
